As a featured presenter on Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUI) Defense, cross examination of police, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) hearings and jury selection it clear that Ben is frequently asked to share the trial tips that have led to successful trials/hearings. Ben moderated the bi-annual DUI conference in 2012 and organized the 2016 conference. In 2008 and again in 2014, Ben authored/revised the chapter on conducting Department of Motor Vehicle Hearings for the DUI Notebook, published by the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. In 2015, Ben presented to the criminal law section how to conduct DMV hearings and effectively cross examine witnesses. In 2015, Ben presented to the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association on Forensic Toxicology and retrograde blood alcohol extrapolation. Ben’s knowledge of DUII law is a passion and skill developed over years focus on DUII cases.
